We have quite the line-up in this sale. Calves, bred cows, bull prospects, embryos, and semen. There is truly something here for everyone. Be sure to take a look through the consignment list below and find what you're looking for today! On the young calves, be sure to notice these are not bottle babies. These calves need to stay on milk and on farm with their surrogate mommas until this Fall. Calves will be available to pick up in September.
Lot 1: Cumberland River Fergus
Cumberland River Fergus consigned by Jeremy & Jessica Hall, Cumberland River Cattle Company. Science Hill, KY. Sells April 30th, 2023 at Highland Genetics Online Auction.
"Fergus" is a red brindle yearling bull born April 15th, 2022. AHCA Registration pending DNA results. Fergus' dam, Wandering Spirit Hali (ACHA #55636) is by Misty Mourn's Brutus 08 and out of Sleepy Valley Lass (Both pictured below), a daughter of SNS Benjamin of Rockhouse Run Farms. Fergus' sire, SBH Jock of Springbrook (AHCA #39451), was the top selling bull in the 2004 Central Bull Test Sale. Two progeny of SBH Jock of Springbrook placed #1 and #4 in the 2008 Central Bull Test.
Fergus is very friendly, docile around people, and would make a great addition to anyone's program. With his genetics he would make a good herd sire or a great pet with his docility. Fergus is owned by Cumberland River Cattle Co. in Science Hill, KY. Shipping can be arranged throughout the US and Canada at buyers expense.

Gray Owl's Siggy (ACHA # 53206) is consigned by Sean Quast, Wild River Highlanders. Harris, MN. Sells April 30th, 2023 at Highland Genetics Online Auction.
Siggy is a 2013 model red cow weighing around 1,000lbs. She is bred to Wild River Bear (reg. pending DNA) for a July calf.
Gray Owl's Siggy is sired by GH Mr Roberts and out of JAR Lora. She boasts the genetics of Schon Boden Farms. Who needs no introduction. Also on Gray Owl Siggy's Papers are: Trafalgar Nathan, the 2006 NWSS Champion Bull (pictured below), and DH Express. These are the kind of powerful, hard to find genetics that don't come around often.
Wild River Bear is sired by DuBoise Lecoq and out of Gray Owl's Estella. DuBoise Le Coq has an impressive show record with accomplishments such as: The 2003 Intermediate Champion at the NWSS. 2004 Grand Champion Bull in Beaver Dam, WI and 2004 Grand Champion Bull at the Badger State Highland Classic.

Lot 3: Louie
Not available for pick up until weaning in September. Black Bull Calf Consigned by Than & Winnie Molnar, Silver Mustang Ranch. Located in Greybull, Wyoming. Sells April 30th, 2023 at Highland Genetics Online Auction.
Louie is a black bull calf born 2/18/2023. Currently weighs around 100lbs and will mature into a average sized Highland. He is very friendly and loves attention. Head scratches are his favorite!
Louie's Dam, Symbiosis Lady Legacy (AHCA Reg. #56993), is by National Champion Karabin Farm's Tuffy and out of a daughter of Black Watch Emmett. Both are pictured below. Black Watch Emmett was the American Highland Cattle Association Bull of the Year in 2004. Karabin Farm's Tuffy was AHCA's 2007 National Reserve Champion Bull. However, Louie's sire was never registered. So Louie is selling as grade.
Louie would make a great addition to anyone's pasture as a pet or working bull. Silver Mustang Ranch can leave him intact or he can be castrated at the buyers discretion. Pickup will be available in September once Louie is ready to be weaned from his dam. Transportation can be arranged throughout the US and Canada at the buyers expense.

WL Melody (AHCA Reg Pending) is a yellow heifer calf born February 4th, 2023. She is sired by Finley Falls Duncan (AHCA #54601) and out of one of Highland Genetics top donor cows, STR Harmony (AHCA #58727)
STR Harmony is the daughter of two National Champions on two different continents. Her sire, Samhach Buidhe of Barnsley was a multiple National Australian Champion, whose semen was imported to the USA. He was a powerful, correct legged bull who adds structural size to his offspring. He has produced champions in Australia and the USA, including the National Champion Bull, STR Ruthless Game. STR Harmony's dam, Yarnelle Farms Betula. Was a USA National Western Stock Show champion. She has gone on to produce many Champions of her own. Harmony is pet-cow friendly. She is one of the nicest, most docile cows we have owned.
Finley Falls Duncan 10x Grand Champion, including 2017 and 2018 NWSS Grand Champion Bull! Duncan weighed in at 1786#. A complete package of structural soundness, mature growth and an extremely docile nature. One of the most exciting bulls to enter the Highland ring in years. Duncan has attracted the eye of not only Highland breeders, but cattlemen nationwide.
Melody is destined for success as a show animal and producer. There's just no way to go wrong with these kinds of genetics. WL Maple (AHCA Reg. Pending) is a silver heifer calf born in early March of 2023. She is sired by WL Genesis (AHCA #59067) and out of Schon Boden's Josie (AHCA #48770). Both bull and cow are legendary here at Highland Genetics. What a pairing!
WL Maple's dam, Schon Boden's Josie, is sired by Buckwheat of Gurholt and out of Schon Boden's Joy. She is packed with old-school genetics that are hard to come by. Josie being one of our herd matriarchs, she has produced a long line of silver, white, and dun calves including WL Jaguar. Another popular bull here at Highland Genetics. She stamps her progeny with her easy-going attitude and longevity-built confirmation.
WL Maple's sire. WL Genesis. Is the son of Angus the 8th of Dunvegan, imported from Scotland, he was an extremely long bull who was a great representative of Scottish character. Genesis’ dam is Black Watch Portia, a fancy silver cow that was shown extensively. Genesis' calves are docile, extremely square with good feet and legs, and tons of Scottish character.

"April" is sired by CBS Gradee and out of Gray Owl's Siggy. (Lot 2 in our sale). CBS Gradee, carries LEA Denovan Adam, DH White Gold, and Schon Boden Prince Charles on his papers. April's dam, Gray Owls Siggy. Is by GH Mr Roberts and out of JAR Lora. Her genetics come straight from the heart of Schon Boden Farm's program. Gray Owl's Britta (ACHA # 55429) is sired by GH Mr. Chips and out of JAR Britni. Gray Owl's Britta is the full sibling to Gray Owl's Bearach, who was shown extensively. Bearach was the 2013 Senior Bull Champion at the National Western Stock Show and placed in the top of his class at several other shows in 2012 and 2013. Britta is extremely long and wide. Her sire, GH Mr. Chips, was from Glen Haven Farms, which bred great cattle and show genetics. Britta's dam comes from JAR breeding, which is very difficult to find today.
STR Encore (AHCA #62210). Your 2023 National ACHA Champion Bull. He weighed 1,822 with a ribeye of 18.3 inches at the show in January 2023. He is long, extremely wide, and absolutely correct. DH Express (AHCA #34005) is a 1999 model red bull sired by DH Grafton and out of DH Pewter Lady. Power, Structure, and Docility. You just cant find these kinds of genetics anymore. DH Express is sure to add the substance every Highland fold is looking for.
DH Express's sire, DH Grafton, is out of a daughter of Jock of Glengorm (Glengorm Castle). He has been one of most influential sires in the American Highland Cattle Association herdbook. The impact Glengorm genetics have had in the USA can be felt everywhere. DH Express's dam, DH Pewter Lady. Is sired by DH King Lear, who was the 1995 Get-Of-Sire champion bull and has gone to produce amazing progeny. LEA Tallulah, Buckwheat's dam, is sired by DH Montgomery (also pictured) who is by multiple-time champion, DH White Gold.
